If you grew up in the 70s and 80s like I did, then we probably had the same ritual on Saturday mornings.

  1. Roll out of bed at 6am.
  2. Fill up huge bowl of Cocoa Puffs (that was my go-to cereal anyway).
  3. Flip on the TV.
  4. Wait for it to warm up (in my house at least).
  5. Plop down.
  6. Watch 3-4 hours of the greatest cartoons ever created.

And if your cartoons happened to be on ABC, then you were probably lucky enough to catch Schoolhouse Rock 3-minute shorts between your favorite episodes.

These educational animations were clearly the infographics of this era. Through appealing graphics and memorable songs, they covered everything from civics, math, and history to science, economics, and grammar—teaching kids (and adults) such things as how to add, how a bill becomes a law and how the body works. They made learning fun and easy!

For me, though, the only episodes that mattered were the Grammar Rock ones on conjunctions, adjectives, adverbs, interjections, pronouns, verbs, nouns, prepositions, and subjects/predicates. Get your grammar lessons today by watching these fun videos below!
