We all need nudges in life. Those motivational people, places, or prompts that get us out of our ruts and propel us forward.

In writing, it’s easy to run into blocks. We don’t know what to say and feel it’s all been said before. We can’t find a new subject matter or a new way to tell an old subject matter.

We need inspiration.

I needed inspiration for this post, in fact, and I found it on the blog of author Charlotte Rains Dixon, where she’s posted hundreds of articles on writing, creativity, inspiration, and motivation.

Have you run into a wall? Unsure what to say about yourself or your company? Here are 4 writing prompts to generate some ideas:

  1. What is your company doing this year that it’s never done before?
  2. If you could change one thing your company has done in this past, what would it be
  3. What’s one time when your company chose the road not taken?
  4. What’s your dream for your community?

Hopefully one of those has sparked a writing idea. Turn on a timer and start writing for 30 minutes. See where it goes.
