colorado springs pikes peak region small business week

We’ve now been official residents of Colorado Springs for 12 months! It’s been a year filled with many ups and downs, but overall we love this city. And just like we did last May, we can’t wait to attend the 2020 Small Business Week for the Pikes Peak Region on July 26-31. The coronavirus will make it quite a bit different, but not enough to keep us away!

Here’s what we’re looking forward to most:

1. Marketing During a Pandemic

We recently created this resource on How to Shift Your Small Business Marketing During a Crisis. It will be great to attend this virtual session and discover what other marketing leaders think the new landscape will look like in 2020 and beyond.

2. Olympic City USA - Eye on the Prize

My wife can confirm that I’m an Olympic fanatic. It doesn’t matter how obscure the sport, I’ll still spend two weeks every two years watching the world’s best athletes compete for gold. And so it’s a bit surreal for me to now live in Olympic City USA! I’ve already taken a live tour of the Olympic Traning Center with my parents, and I can’t wait to experience this virtual tour of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum.

3. Avoiding Burnout in Turbulent Times

Since 2017 and some health challenges we experienced as a family, self care has always been a high priority for Keyhole Marketing. It can be hard to maintain a solid work/life balance and a high quality of life during “normal” times, much less now during this unprecedented pandemic. We look forward to learning even more ways in this session of managing stress — as business owners, parents, spouses, and friends. Plus, they tacked on some live comedy by the brand new 3E’s Comedy Club! Who doesn’t need a good laugh these days?

4. Supporting Minority Owned Business

Lately, there’s been a lot of words. A lot of social media posts. A lot of noise — good and bad. I look forward to this session on how to take those words and put them into action — learning how to make the conversation even more personal and life transforming.

5. Meeting New People

I’d be lying if I said moving to a new city hasn’t been intimidating at times. I am thankful for  all the new friends and partners I’ve met this past year and look forward to new opportunities to meet other like-minded people, support local business, and hopefully expand my network of partners and friends here in the Pikes Peak region.

If you’re planning on hanging out at the Colorado Springs Small Business Week, send us a note! I’d love to — from the proper socially distance — grab a coffee or beer, attend a workshop together and get to know you. Additionally, if you have any suggestions for what not to miss in Colorado Springs, send them my way!
